Louise Denzel is a qualified Occupational therapist, and has developed a special interest in neurology, specifically brain injury. Her first occupational therapy jobs were in Leeds and then in Nottingham where she gained experience of a range of therapeutic interventions. Louise started working at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in 1999 as a junior occupational therapist and gained experience in neurosciences. She was then promoted to the position of senior occupational therapist and then team leader of the neurosciences occupational therapy team. As well as managing the team the role included providing an occupational therapy service on the neurosciences inpatient wards and an outpatient service contributing to multi-disciplinary team clinics.
In 2003 she then began working as a locum gaining experience in many fields of occupational therapy including the role of social services and private care providers, before re-joining the NHS to work in Stroke Services, which she continued to do until 2010.
In 2006 Louise became a consultant for Jacqueline Webb and company. She writes expert witness reports making recommendations for care, equipment and housing needs for people who have acquired brain injury and have complex physical needs. In 2016 she was awarded Best Expert for her exceptional report writing. In 2010 Louise began working as a case manager with Angela Washington Ltd, gaining experience in working as a case manager with brain injured clients and those who have undergone traumatic amputations.
In 2013 Louise started Louise Denzel Case Management and has gone from strength to strength, specializing in providing a bespoke, caring service. Louise is a member of BABICM, CMSUK and the British Association of Occupational Therapists.
